Master Wildlife Conservationist Ginny Apple is back with a new presentation! When the sun sets and night is upon us, all sorts of critters, prey and predator, emerge from their hiding places and begin to forage, hunt — even play! From the opossum to the porcupine to the Great Horned Owl, fox and coyotes, these creatures can teach us lots about the animal world if we just watch and listen. Hear more from Ginny as she talks about these animals, their habits, their howls, and their homes. An LHAS board member, Ginny is familiar to us from many wonderful presentations on the wildlife of Connecticut. Living in a house surrounded by Peoples State Forest, she has supplied a wealth of field notes and photographs to the CT DEEP on all kinds of wildlife. Ginny is chair of the Barkhamsted Conservation Commission and on the boards of several like-minded organizations.
NOTE: The meetings will be in person and on Zoom, unless otherwise indicated. To participate on Zoom, go to the Calendar section of our website, lhasct.org, and click on the link provided in the announcement to be directed to our registration portal. Once registered, you will receive a Zoom link on the day of the meeting. Meeting times, shown below, are when refreshments are available. A short business meeting begins at 7 PM, followed by the presentation.
