Abraham Lincoln’s 160th Anniversary of his Inaugural Address

Mark Albertson, renowned Historian, will detail the 160th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Inaugural Address. This literary and oratorical commencement of the 16th president's term in office will be highlighted against the backdrop of southern states leaving the Union to form the Confederacy. For America is not only on the road to civil war, but Total War, the first true industrialized, corporatized conflict of the 19th century and one that will chart the course of conventional war through the first half of the 20th.
About the presenter, Mark Albertson:
Mark Albertson is an historical research editor at Army Aviation magazine; and, is the historian for the Army Aviation Association of America. Mark is a long time member of the United States Naval Institute, and has authored several books.
Mark teaches history at Norwalk Community College in Norwalk, Connecticut for the Extended Studies Program, World War I. And he teaches for the Lifetime Learners Institute at Norwalk Community College.
Mark has published numerous articles on issues of history and current events. A number of his writings can be found in the ARTICLE ARCHIVES of MARKWRITER.COM.
Mark is an avid speaker on a variety of issues on history (refer to the PRESENTATIONS page for a roster of topics) and appears in a variety of venues. In May 2005, Mark was presented with a General Assembly Citation by both houses of Congress in Hartford, Connecticut for his efforts in commemorating the centennial of battleship Connecticut.
