Escape to the shoreline for a relaxing adults-only summer day trip to Hammonasset Beach State Park! We’ll start the day bright and early with plenty of time to unwind, explore, and enjoy the Connecticut coast at your own pace. Guests can enjoy convenient pick-up and drop-off access between two scenic beach areas within the park.

At Meigs Point, located on the southeastern tip of the park, discover a beautiful rocky shoreline, nature trails, and possible seal sightings, and the popular Meigs Point Nature Center (free admission includes a touch tank, aquariums, and more). This section of the beach is known for its coarser sand, seashells, and peaceful coastal scenery. Prefer soft sand and classic beach lounging? Head over to West Beach, a wide sandy stretch perfect for swimming, sunbathing, beach walks, and soaking up the summer sunshine. West Beach also offers accessible parking and nearby bathhouses, snack shack and vending machines for added convenience.

After a tranquil morning and early afternoon of beachcombing and relaxation, we’ll head to Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale (lunch is not included in cost) in Madison to refresh and refuel with delicious seaside favorites. Enjoy the fun outdoor picnic atmosphere featuring counter service, covered pavilions, and a nostalgic carousel that makes for the perfect ending to a carefree summer day at the shore.
