SUMMARY:Roots of Wonder Pre-Kindergarten Program
DESCRIPTION:Roots of Wonder Forest Program\nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nA Nature-Based Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment ProgramHosted by the Litchfield Community Center \nRoots of Wonder invites children ages 3–5 to explore\, play\, and learn in an engaging\, nature-centered environment. This unique program is designed to foster curiosity\, creativity\, and a deep appreciation for the natural world through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration. \nProgram Schedule:📅 Mondays\, Wednesdays\, and Fridays🕛 12:00 – 3:00 PM📍 Litchfield Community Center \nOur mission is to nurture each child’s natural sense of wonder and empathy for the world around them\, encouraging discovery and connection within our community \nKatie P \nBefore moving back to the Northwest Corner\, I worked as a Lead Teacher at the Young Naturalist Preschool in the Hudson Valley. There\, we encouraged self-discovery through time spent in nature\, expanding on children’s social and emotional skills through play-based learning. Prior to this\, I worked across the country as an Environmental Educator in the State Park System and with Non-profit Organizations. Spending the most time with the Appalachian Mountain Club\, where I guided and taught programs over three different states. I have always gravitated to the wonders that young children carry in them. Allowing them to explore\, learn\, and appreciate nature has been a great culmination of my passions and work experience\, and I feel fortunate to provide these experiences to young children in my community.   \n  \nCorynne K \nGrowing up in Litchfield\, Connecticut\, I ventured to Northern California\, where I spent the past 13 years. I recently moved back to the area and am excited to share the experiences I gained while living and working in an off-grid community. I am an educator\, nature lover\, and mother who is deeply passionate about community-based learning. While in Northern California\, I was a teacher and president of an off-grid\, community school\, where education was rooted in nature\, connection\, and resilience. While living in a rural area\, I also started a playgroup through the First 5 program to support families with young children who had limited access to early-childhood resources. Community is incredibly important to me\, and I am excited to share my passion for education\, nature\, and community through this program!
