SUMMARY:Evening Glow - Nov 12th
DESCRIPTION:Evening Glow Music Series \nNov 12th – 3:30PM \nRebecca Patterson\, Violin Cello & Alyce Cognetta Bertz\, Violin \n  \nClick Here To Register  \nAll are welcome to join us for relaxing and reflective music to close the day. \nPerformances are followed by a reception with refreshments. \n  \nCellist Rebecca Patterson is acclaimed for her “uncommonly warm and rounded tone\,” as noted by The New York Times. She serves as Principal Cello of both the Waterbury and New Haven Symphony Orchestras. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the Yale School of Music\, she co-founded the award-winning chamber ensemble Antares\, which achieved national recognition and performed extensively for over 15 years. Patterson has been a dedicated member of the Waterbury Symphony for nearly three decades. Outside of music\, she enjoys creating experiences that combine her family’s Napa Valley winemaking heritage with her passion for food and performance. \n  \nViolinist and WSO Concertmaster\, Alyce Cognetta Bertz began her musical journey at age five and has forged a uniquely personal path ever since. Balancing serious musical study with a passion for athletics in her youth\, she continues to bring that same energy and independence to her playing. A devoted teacher and performer\, she finds particular joy in making music with her granddaughter. For more than a decade\, she has also performed at Burning Man\, embracing the challenges of music-making in an unconventional setting. When not performing\, she enjoys hiking\, sailing\, cooking\, and spending time with her growing family.

SUMMARY:Free Hearing Screenings
DESCRIPTION:Free Comprehensive Hearing Screening! Call 860-567-8302 to book your 20 minute appointment between 9:30-12pm.\n\n\n\n\nHearing Care Centers will be on site at Litchfield Community Center to offer free comprehensive hearing screenings\, a series of tests that assess an individual’s ability to hear sounds and understand speech. The screening typically includes a range of tests such as pure-tone audiometry\, speech audiometry\, and middle ear testing. The purpose of the screening is to determine whether an individual has any hearing loss and the extent of the hearing loss. \nComprehensive hearing screening is important because hearing loss can have a significant impact on an individual’s quality of life. It can affect an individual’s ability to communicate effectively\, participate in social activities\, and perform daily tasks. Early detection of hearing loss can help prevent these negative impacts by allowing for prompt treatment\, such as hearing aids or cochlear implants\, which can improve an individual’s ability to hear and communicate. Additionally\, early detection of hearing loss can help identify any underlying medical conditions that may be causing the hearing loss and allow for timely treatment of those conditions. Overall\, comprehensive hearing screening is an important tool in maintaining overall health and wellbeing.
