DESCRIPTION:Parkinson’s support group for those with Parkinson’s and their caregivers and family members- all are welcome. \nJoin us for this newly developed support group at Litchfield Community center\, in collaboration with the American Parkinson’s disease association\, and facilitated by Heather Pierce\, CDP and SA. \nParticipating in a support group is a wonderful way to receive practical information and education on living with Parkinson’s disease.\nMore importantly\, members receive the support of others who truly understand.\nBeginning Monday\, September 11th The group will meet monthly on the second Monday of the month from 2-3 pm at the Litchfield Community Center. \nFor more info or any questions about the group or Parkinson’s Disease please call Heather Pierce at 860-733-9506 \n

SUMMARY:Litchfield Audubon Society Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Everything You wanted to Know About Black Bears in CT \nJoin Master Wildlife Conservationist Ginny Apple as she talks about black bears\, focusing on their natural history in Connecticut\, an overview of their habitat\, diet\, behavior\, reproduction\, and current research efforts. She also provides practical recommendations for optimum co-existence with our black bear population. She will also bring black bear artifacts to share with the audience. Ginny\, newly appointed board member of LHAS\, is familiar to us from many wonderful presentations on the wildlife of Connecticut. Living in a house surrounded by People’s State Forest\, she has supplied a wealth of field notes and photographs to the DEEP on bears and other wildlife. Ginny is chair of the Barkhamsted Conservation Commission and on the boards of several like-minded organizations\, including Friends of American Legion and People’s State Forests and Friends of Connecticut State Parks. \nNote: The meetings will be in person and on Zoom. To participate on Zoom\, go to the Calendar section of our website\, lhasct.org\, to register. You will be sent the login link. \nThe meeting times are when refreshments are available. A short business meeting begins at 7 p.m.\, followed by the presentation.
