SUMMARY:Strength Training Silver Sneakers
DESCRIPTION:Functional Strengthening will improve overall functional capacity and quality of life- improving your ability to perform daily activities such as lifting\, carrying\, reaching\, movement\, and everyday tasks. \nCome and push\, pull\, hinge\, bend\, lunge\, squat\, rotate and lift with us! We will use dumbbells and resistance bands. Keep those muscles functioning as they were designed to. \nClass is covered by Silversneakers and Renew Active insurance but anyone is\nwelcome to attend this class. If insurance will not be available a donation is welcomed. \nThe class will be 45 minutes in duration. Wear appropriate clothes for exercise\, please. \nInstructor\nJanice Connor will be instructing the group. Janice has been a Group exercise and a Spin instructor for many years and has taught Silversneakers for over ten years. However\, she finds the challenges of compound movements and using dumbbells her favorite. Janice has attended exercise classes for decades as her Mother\, Ann\, began teaching fitness and movement in the 1950’s in the U.K.

SUMMARY:Litchfield Audubon Society Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Birds and Wildlife of Argentina and Patagonia\n\n\n\nThis program will highlight Dave Tripp’s visits to Argentina in 2022 and 2025\, specifically the Patagonia region. His Argentina bird list tops 300 species\, 235 of which he has photographed and entered into eBird. Dave will entertain us with stories and adventures as well as his spectacular photos of the Patagonia avifauna. Dave has been birding since he was 12\, when he went on an LHAS bird walk with his sixth-grade teacher at White Memorial in Litchfield. He has been hooked on birding ever since! He currently serves as the treasurer of LHAS and compiles two Christmas Bird Counts and a summer count. He also is a board member of the Connecticut Ornithological Association\, for which he has spent 25 years on the Avian Records of Connecticut Committee and founded the Connecticut Big Day team — the Raven Lunatics\, who hold the state record of 192 species in a 24-hour period. He has traveled worldwide and leads trips to Central and South America\, especially Brazil\, as a hobby. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNOTE: The meetings will be in person and on Zoom\, unless otherwise indicated. To participate on Zoom\, go to the Calendar section of our website\, lhasct.org\, and click on the link provided in the announcement to be directed to our registration portal. Once registered\, you will receive a Zoom link on the day of the meeting. Meeting times\, shown below\, are when refreshments are available. A short business meeting begins at 7 PM\, followed by the presentation. \n
