DESCRIPTION:Quilts that Care is a dynamic group of volunteers that make and donate handmade quilts to cancer patients. These quilts are distributed by the social workers currently at 19 cancer treatment facilities in CT and growing. \nYou don’t have to be a quilter to join us. We need volunteers to iron\, cut and organize fabric. All materials are supplied to us. SUMMARY:Roots of Wonder Gardening Program (Ages 5-8)
DESCRIPTION:Roots of Wonder Garden Sessions is a hands-on gardening program designed for children ages 5–8 at the Litchfield Community Gardens. Through weekly outdoor sessions\, kids will explore how food grows while learning basic gardening skills such as planting\, watering\, harvesting\, and caring for plants. \nParticipants will work together in the garden\, discovering where their food comes from and gaining an appreciation for nature through engaging\, interactive activities. The program encourages curiosity\, teamwork\, and a connection to the natural world. \nSessions run from May 6 to July 29. From May 6 through June 24\, the program meets on Wednesdays from 4:00–6:00 PM. Beginning June 27\, the time shifts to 9:00–11:00 AM. \nSessions will Be Held on Saturday\, June 24th\, Saturday\, July 11th\, and July 25th \nThe cost for the full session is $300. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER \nThis drop-off program takes place at the Litchfield Community Gardens. Children will spend time planting\, tending garden beds\, and learning through hands-on experiences in a welcoming outdoor environment.
