We seek to reflect the interests
and needs of our community.
The Litchfield Community Center and the Poet Laureate of Litchfield, Rob Piazza bring to you the Community Writers Group!
The Community Writers Group is a literary arts workshop that is open to all genres --literary fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, and playwriting. It welcomes writers at various stages of development, from beginners to advanced, and it encourages writers at diverse stages of life, from young adults to senior citizens and everyone in between. The group will meet once a month, usually on the third Thursday from 7:30 - 9:00PM, to discuss revisions in a traditional "workshop" style. "What's the next draft?" and "what are the possibilities?" will be our overriding questions. Members will submit work to the group a week ahead of time, so that everyone has a chance to read before we meet. We're looking for writers who will commit themselves to the group, yet we welcome people to drop-in from time to time. The group will stay limited in size so as to allow time for individual feedback for every writer, and we will follow Covid-saftey protocols as determined by the facilitator.
The first meeting of the group will be an "organizational" style meeting where we will get to know each other, learn what to expect from joining the group, and guidelines of the group.
